Excellent for All Singers and Jazz Instrumentalists

I have sampled all of the vocal practice products on Amazon, and I think this one is the best. The singer has a beautiful voice, the rhythm section is top-notch, and the production is excellent. The concept and structure are well thought out to make you a better singer, and provide you with tools for modal improvisation. There is a lot of material. I could see doing the warm up and then working on a different mode each day as a great daily routine.

Practicing along with the CD will help all singers improve their vocal technique, regardless of their preferred genre. Beginners will not find instruction on basic vocal technique, but if you have had some voice lessons or choral experience, the CD provides basic exercises to warm up and improve your voice.

All types of singers will enjoy working on the modes. Some classical singers might not think modes would be useful, but I think that working with them will improve your ear and intonation, and also provide variety in your practice. Maybe it will open you to trying some jazz, too.

I think jazz instrumentalists would also benefit from practicing along with the CD, either with their instruments or voices. You can't play your horn while you are driving, but you could sing along with the CD and internalize the modes, and the chords they are used over. Doing a little scat singing over the "you try it" tracks will certainly help you to generate ideas for improvising on your instrument.

I have been teaching jazz/pop improv for voice for many years. I have tried many, many different books & methods and pieced together bits from each to enhance & reinforce what I am teaching. This book is wonderful. Judy sings in tune. Her examples are excellent. She swings and so does her band. I ask my students to order copies so that they can work to improve more between lessons. Worth the purchase. The best I have found for what I teach.

It ended very abruptly. Read the whole book waiting for them to finally get together and for Nicholas to finally get his head on right and realize Angel loves him. He is an idiot and refuses to see what is in front of him.. Frustrating at times.

Historical Romance meets Lots of Spice- Yay!

I am an old fan of Regency/ Georgian romances but the young and naive heroines of the old era have become... well, boring as hell. No offense to devotees of traditional historical romance, but I like a bit more passion at times. At other times, I like love scenes explicit enough to fog my reading glasses. Scottie Barrett has found a balance between the two and is a master at adding titillating spiciness to the historical genre. Although there were a few areas in this story that dragged on, I still enjoyed the book.
I highly recommend her books to Regency era readers who aren't put off by steamy scenes ( and are adults, just to be P.C.)

I had not read the author since The Addicted Viscount a long time ago I don't read contemporary romance.
Nicholas Draxford had become Angeline Kent's Ward along with his uncle's estate. He was going to find her a husband as soon as possible. The only problem she wanted him and he her. He is a man of control having been a major in the army. The book has a lot of steamy sex scenes between the two of them . Angeline may marry another but will Nicholas claim her as his wife? This book is nor for people who want a clean romance much more than kissing here.

The 'book' is just a worthless leaflet, devoid of useful information

The 'book' is really just a leaflet, and is utterly devoid of useful information. I considered it worthless and returned it within 5 minutes for a full refund. The leaflet is just a few pages of large print that probably took the author about an hour to write when he was bored. Then at the back of the pamphlet is an advertisement for a 'Trading Toolkit' he tries to sell you. Looking for a good source of information on how to trade Crude Oil? Don't waste your time here.

I liked reading about the drivers of oil. Since we are living in a world of individual vehicles I'm always interested in learning more about the drivers of oil prices in the market. Out of all of the obvious reasons to invest in oil, it's going to be around for a long, long time.

I don't know how I feel about the surplus of oil and the cap that's put on it to drive prices up for the consumer, especially after the last huge gas price jump that doesn't seem to be lowering any time soon. This book covers a lot of ground about crude oil trading like futures, options and ETFs. I'll be going over this book again in the future and practicing with trading crude oil.

Absolutely fantastic! This will really take your programming skills to another level! It's not a beginner's book but someone with a basic foundation in programming can work through this book and learn a great deal. Daniel Holden is a fantastic and entertaining author (which is sometimes rare in the tech writing field) that clearly presents the subject matter in a great manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to delve into C or learn a thing about Lisps (or both). Kudos!

I had been beating my head against what made Lisps special for years. I could sense there was something there waiting to be discovered. Writing my own with the help of this book finally gave me the "Ah Ha!" moment I had been looking for.
